The best way to tell I have work to be doing

is that I'm blogging again. Three books to read on urban iconography in Dublin and I'm five pages into the first. After that, will I ever find a chocolate brown bridesmaid dress that is both 'tea length' and shows no cleavage? The adventure is only beginning.

I feel completely entitled to lazily working from the couch all day since some of yesterday was spent ungracefully doing what is reported to be a Navy SEAL workout, or twenty minutes of hell, all without throwing up! Yeah!
There will be none of this today, because OH MY GOD, SORENESS.

Here is a brief outline of what I did, and will be doing again tomorrow:

1. Place two markers 18 metres apart. From the first, do walking lunges. On each lunge, keep your front thigh parallel to the ground. At the second marker, do 10 push-ups. Sprint back and repeat four times.

2. From the first marker, do standing broad jumps: hop forward, repeat. Don't move your feet after landing. At the second marker, do 10 wide push-ups. Sprint back and repeat four times.

3. From the first marker, do scissor lunges: from the lunge position, leap forward and switch legs in midair. At the second marker, do 10 close-grip push-ups. Sprint back and repeat four times, then take a five minute break.

4. Do 30 reps of classic crunches, then flip over and do arm haulers: lift your head and chest up and stick your arms forward like Superman then sweep them to your sides without touching the ground for 30 reps.

5. Do another 30 reps of crunches, but this time straighten your legs. Flip over and do 30 reps of arm haulers, but keep both feet several inches above the ground.

6. Finish this round with 30 reps of combo crunches: from the crunch position, bring your knees and elbow up to meet at the top of the movement. Unfold. now do 30 arm haulers, but lift your legs and knees off the ground this time.

7. From the first marker, do a half-speed run 18 metres to the second. Jog back, then do a three-quarter-speed run. Jog back, then do an all-out sprint. Repeat the circuit two more times.

8. Place markers 36 metres apart and do #7 three times.

9. Place markers 54 metres apart and do #7 three times.

I am a machine, and not a girly one, those were real pushups. Ever closer to being a big, burly pirate with machine guns for arms and a tank for a lower body like RoboGeisha.
